Trial Lawyers for Injured People

Adam T. Funk

After graduating in three years with honors from the University of Texas at Austin (BA — Business Admin.), Mr. Funk worked with an Austin law firm specializing in plaintiffs’ pharmaceutical and personal injury claims. The satisfaction of helping the injured pushed him to attend the University of Houston Law Center, where he worked hard to sharpen his litigation skills. His determined advocacy on the Mock Trial and Moot Court teams led to several tournament victories and awards, including the Order of the Barristers, a rarely-given honor bestowed upon law students exhibiting excellence in the art of courtroom advocacy. Throughout law school, Mr. Funk also worked as a law clerk for Matthews & Associates, where his hard work and dedication led firm founder David P. Matthews to believe he would be a great asset to the firm as an attorney.

Mr. Funk has secured several settlements for his clients, including one million dollars for a client injured in a motorcycle accident.

In addition, he works passionately as the lead counsel for the Foodborne Illness Mass Tort Docket and the Hormone Replacement Therapy Drugs Docket. Spurred by the strong belief that justice will prevail, he continues to zealously advocate for his clients who were injured due to negligent and willful conduct. Mr. Funk, an Eagle Scout, enjoys volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America as well as riding horses and working on his family ranch. At work, he does his part to help the environment by recycling his paper trash, using a coffee mug instead of styrofoam cups, and turning off his computer and lights every night.
